Water and Sanitation Challenge in Tanzania

Save The Future Foundation Clean Water

Safe water and sanitation are fundamental to solving challenges to human health, economic development, peace and security.

In Tanzania 26 million people leave without clean water. About 41 million people do not have proper sanitation facilities and more than 3,000 children under the age of 5 die from diarrhea every year as a result of lack of water and poor sanitation. In the absence of improved sanitation and safe, clean, reliable and sufficient water supply; many people will continue to suffer from increased poverty and disease, food insecurity, and undermine economic development, reduce trade and export opportunities.

Save The Future Foundation Clean Water Project

STFF calls for international efforts to help provide safe, clean, accessible and affordable drinking water and sanitation to the communities in Tanzania. STFF water programs aim at ensuring that vulnerable populations in Tanzania have reliable access to clean water in such a way that their dignity, rights, culture and natural environment are not negatively impacted.

Water problems are difficult to solve alone. The poor and marginalized, in particular women and girls, are the most difficult to reach. By supporting STFF, you are part of a solution that reaches more people.

Specifically, STFF focuses on the integrated approach for water resources management including access for all on water and sanitation, environmental issues and pollution prevention, sufficient water for a growing population, climate change, water governance issues and conflict management.
